“General Confusion, USMC”
I really enjoyed drawing Commodore Edney, our (honestly) beloved Supe. And it wouldn’t be the last time he would grace the pages of The Log! (See “The Bancroft Horror Picture Show”)
However, the printer really screwed up this one – didn’t treat is like a photo, so it ended up looking like someone smeared charcoal over the whole thing. It was pretty terrible. (What’s posted here is photographed from the original art boards.) I needed to find a way to make it so it would look okay no matter what the printer did …
