I started Darior my plebe year, but Carl Pursor got his powers on youngster cruise. So he was going to graduate a year ahead of me. I needed a way to keep him and Darior around for my first class year. This was my solution. And I already knew how I wanted the final year to play out.
Meanwhile, there was a bulletin board in my company that had stunning hand-lettering. Just fantastic. It turns out to have been done by 4/c Susan Korol. So at the end of her plebe year, I asked if she would do the lettering for Darior the next year. She was excited to take on the task – but she had no idea what she had signed up for. (See Dec. 83)
